Kelly Burton, LMSW (she/her) received her graduate degree from University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to joining Lotus, she worked as a psychiatric social worker for NorthShore University health system in Evanston, IL, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago Children’s Center for Behavioral Health, Lurie Children’s Hospital, Feeding America and Dwell with Dignity in Dallas, Texas.
Kelly has extensive experience in crisis intervention and working with individuals struggling with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, emotional regulation, adjustment to life transitions and stress management issues.
Kelly utilizes a collaborative, strengths based approach. She aims to facilitate new insight while incorporating evidence based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
As a strength based provider, Kelly helps clients capitalize on their unique strengths and their application in overall well-being.
In session, Kelly aims to create a collaborative, affirming, emotionally safe and nonjudgmental environment, enhancing self compassion and acceptance as vehicles of change. She assists clients in identifying clear, distinct and realistic goals and pathways forward. Kelly believes every individual has the capacity to grow and achieve fulfillment in life.
