Claire Bensen, MSW received her graduate degree from the University of Michigan. Her approach to therapy is person-centered and her focus is on meeting each client exactly where they are.
Claire is a poised clinician, passionate about helping those who struggle with motivation and confidence issues, worry and anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder as well as trauma, loss and grief. She is a committed LGBTQIA+ ally.
It’s easy to feel welcomed and supported when working with Claire, who utilizes a blend of mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Her work is also rooted in attachment theory. She is welcoming, open and nonjudgmental and puts emphasis on genuine therapeutic relationship and an affirming environment. Her clients quickly feel safe and free to explore layers of their identities and lives, process openly and challenge themselves without overwhelm or fear.
In her personal life, Claire is an avid hiker. She enjoys travel and music as well as clinical and non-clinical reading.
